About Our Staff Training
It is our belief that our most important asset is our staff. They strive to provide quality childcare that fosters the physical, social-emotional, and cognitive development of the whole child. As professionals, all staff members working 20 hours or more a week are required to attend ten hours of continuing education the first year of employment and six hours annually thereafter. Additional requirements include First Aid, Adult/Child/Infant CPR, Universal Precautions, and Mandatory Reporters Of Child Abuse.
Part-time employees working less then 20 hours a week are required to attend five hours of continuing education the first year of employment and four hours annually thereafter. Additional requirements include Universal Precautions and Mandatory Reporters of Child Abuse. We encourage First Aid and CPR for all part-time staff.
Two forms, a copy of REQUEST FOR CHILD ABUSE INFORMATION (form SS-1606-0) and a copy of DHS CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD CHECKS (Form 595-1396) are completed by the center. They are forwarded to DHS for the determination of founded child abuse or criminal convictions on ALL employees.
